Atelier Ted Noten is part of Red Light Design, a collaboration between the city of Amsterdam, jewelry designers, and Droog Design, to transform former prostitutes living spaces into jewelry workshops.
Ted Noten’s vending machine is installed in the front door, and is stocked with red rings, where you can “be nice to a girl, and buy her a ring! For only €2.50! A good and cheap way to make a girl happy!

Tom Sachs’ “Cameras” exhibit at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Connecticut. I love all his handmade camera replicas – and even his handpainted Leica logo.

Here are a few snapshots taken last week on a week trip to Stockholm and Copenhagen…

I got to touch the Acne x Bianchi bikes at the store, they look too nice to ride!

We found lots of cool antique stores in Copenhagen… I loved these antique children’s shoes lined up together.

These old Carlsberg wooden boxes popped up everywhere, but there was no easy way to get them home.

…and drank nice cold beers at a cool bar on the canal… it was their last day of the season.

While at the Brimfield Antiques Fair, I found lots of interesting stuff. Was completely amazed to find a Relaxacizor – a muscle stimulating “exercising” device that was made in the 1950’s in Hollywood. When I was talking about it out loud, a lady yelled, “Did you say RELAXACIZOR??” She exitedly told me stories of how her now deceased friend, used to sell them door-to-door, and that Zsa Zsa Gabor used to be one of her customers. Crazy! I learned about the weird contraption on the show Mad Men – I love that they incorporate real products and their real advertising campaigns.

These rad model cards were crafted by Nattles Mencinsky for One Management. They measure 1.5′ x 1′ in real life, and I’m going to try to convince her to give me one to keep! Inspired by Richard Avedon’s current show at ICP, they feature Colette Peshekhonova, Anne Catherine Lacroix, and Tasha Tilberg, one of my favorite models ever… And the best part is that they come with astronaut ice cream to complete the space age theme. Genius!
